You can help the West Somerset Food Cupboard by donating food, by donating money, by donating your time as a volunteer and by telling others about the Food Cupboard.
By Donating Food
We depend on the generosity of local donors to provide food to distribute to those in need.
We collect non-perishable food items with a long shelf-life, such as:
- Tins of fruit, vegetables, soup, beans, meat, fish, etc.
- Packets of rice, pasta, cereal, tea, sugar, biscuits, snacks, etc.
- Jars of sauce, coffee, hot chocolate, spreads, etc.
- Cartons of UHT milk, juice, custard, etc.
To find out what we are running low on at the moment, please see our latest newsletter on our News page.
Donated food items can be placed in any of the many collection points in local shops, supermarkets and community venues, as shown on the map below.
Please note that fresh, chilled, frozen or out-of-date food should not be left at these collection points.
If you would like to host a food collection point at your community venue, please get in touch.

By Donating Money
Financial donations are gratefully received. These enable us to fill any gaps in our supplies, to accommodate special diets and other emergency requests, to continue to cover the costs of employing of our hard working staff and to support and train volunteers.
You can set up a regular gift or make a one-off donation online. If you are able to make a regular or one-off gift to support our ongoing work, please give to us via Stewardship.
By Donating Your Time
Our wonderful Volunteers are the beating heart of the West Somerset Food Cupboard. They help with food collection, sorting, dating, packing and distribution as well as many other ad hoc tasks each week.
And our brilliant Trustees oversee, monitor, evaluate and provide strategic planning for the future. They ensure that the organisation complies with all relevant legislation, governing documents and policies, makes efficient use of resources and manages people and premises well.
If you’d like to find out more about becoming a Volunteer or Trustee, please contact us.
By reading our news and keeping in touch
We produce a monthly e-newsletter which you can read on our News page. If you’d like to be added to the email newsletter distribution list, please contact us.
And if you have any questions, thoughts, feedback or suggestions, we’d love to hear from you.
