Discover the organisations we work with and how, together, we support our community.

Katrina Midgley – Chair
Katrina grew up in Porlock, where her parents ran a local business, and began her career at NatWest Bank. After marrying in the early 1980s, she moved to Bristol before returning to settle in Minehead. From 2005 to 2020, she worked in the voluntary sector with various local charities. Katrina joined the WSFC Board in 2022 and became Chair in 2023, drawn to the chance to support her community directly. In her spare time, she enjoys walking on Exmoor with her German Shepherd, Luna, and playing the clarinet.

Barbara O’Keefe – Trustee
Barbara is retired after a career in education business management, most recently as Chief Operations Officer of a Multi Academy Trust, with strategic responsibility for finance, HR, premises, health and safety, and governance. After raising her family in Wellington, she and her husband Mike moved to West Somerset, where she was keen to get involved in voluntary work. She values the vital role food cupboards play in reducing hardship and food waste and strengthening community resilience. Barbara is also chair of governors at a local school and sits on several committees. She enjoys her grandchildren, walking on Exmoor, reading and gardening.

Jonathan Sealby – Trustee
Jonathan has been volunteering with WSFC since February 2022, collecting donations from local supermarkets, so if you spot him wheeling crates round Tesco, do say hello! Still volunteering, he became a Trustee in November 2024, bringing valued IT skills to the team. He was keen to put his time and skills to good use supporting the local community. Outside of WSFC, Jonathan enjoys swimming, cycling and running, and has even combined all three for the odd triathlon.

Sue Eley – Trustee
Sue has lived in Minehead for 15 years and joined the WSFC Board in 2024. She trained as a community development worker and has spent some 40 years in the voluntary sector, taking on a variety of roles with local and national charities, predominantly supporting rural communities. Wanting to continue that work locally, Sue also trained as a counsellor with Relate and has been involved in a wide range of volunteering, including as former Chair of Engage, the development agency for West Somerset. She currently volunteers at Minehead Community Bookshop.

Chris Nurden – Treasurer
Chris was appointed Trustee and Treasurer of WSFC in April 2026. A Chartered Accountant by background, he spent many years as finance director for a firm of accountants. In 2016 he and his wife moved to Minehead and bought The Parks Guest House, which they continue to run. He brings further experience from 19 years as Treasurer of his church in Nottingham and as Treasurer of a community leisure centre, giving him a strong grounding in charitable accounting. Chris attends Minehead Baptist Church.

Jane Jones – Trustee
As a warden of St Michael’s Church in Alcombe, Jane was a co-founder of WSFC, set up in 2007 in response to an identified need for emergency food support for local people in food poverty. She remained a Trustee when it became a separate charity in 2022, while continuing as a Trustee of the church that still hosts it. Jane moved to Minehead with her young family in 1975 and spent 25 years as a Speech and Language Therapist, later specialising as NHS Manager for adults with learning disabilities and as CEO of Somerset Total Communication, a charity she founded. She brings experience from numerous committees and five charity trusteeships.

Trudi Mann – Trustee
Trudi is a CIMA-qualified accountant who has held a number of senior leadership roles in NHS organisations across the South West, with extensive experience in strategic planning, organisational performance and change management. She hopes to bring this experience to help WSFC develop and expand its role in West Somerset. Trudi has previously volunteered with a local Credit Union and is passionate about making finance accessible to all. She also holds a qualification in Mental Health First Aid and is mindful of the impact the cost-of-living crisis can have on people’s wellbeing.

Sara Trigg – Team Leader
Sara has been Team Leader of WSFC for the past two years. After moving to the area four years ago, she was keen to get more involved in the local community and found the perfect opportunity through the charity. She brings a varied career background spanning fashion buying, advertising, recruitment and medical administration, giving her a diverse skill set that supports the organisation’s work. Sara is passionate about the positive impact WSFC has on people’s lives and feels privileged to be part of such an inspiring team and supportive community.

Alex Groves – Local Pantry Co-ordinator
Alex has been the Local Pantry Co-ordinator since May 2024. Her background is in HR, having worked for organisations including West Somerset Council, West Somerset Railway and Minehead Medical Centre. She took the decision to make a complete career change in order to give something back to the community. Born and bred in West Somerset, Alex feels a strong connection to the area and a deep understanding of the people she now supports through her role.
