West Somerset Food Cupboard Food Requests, Christmas 2026

Give a Little, Help a Lot This Christmas

Dear friends and supporters of the West Somerset Food Cupboard,

I can’t quite believe we are at that time of the year again already. As we head towards Christmas, we’re gearing up for one of our most important and exciting appeals of the year at West Somerset Food Cupboard!

This Christmas, we’re hoping to send out 150–200 Christmas food bags to local households, packed with essential items to help families enjoy a proper Christmas, along with a few extra treats and festive luxuries. For many people, these little extras are no longer affordable, and we want to help make Christmas brighter for everyone.

But we can’t do it this alone – we need our whole community to come together!

Every donation, whether it’s a tin of vegetables, a packet of biscuits, a Christmas pudding or a financial contribution, will help us get closer to our goal. By spreading the word, encouraging local businesses and organisations to get involved, and working together, we really can achieve something amazing.

I know our community can make a difference when everyone pulls together, and this year we want to make an even bigger difference. So please help us get behind our Christmas push, and help fill those donation bins and spread some festive kindness.

Thank you, as always, for your enthusiasm and support. Please know that every little bit really does make a difference!

If we could request the following items that are most needed, we would be very grateful.

  • Gravy Granules & Stuffing Packs
  • Tin Veg -peas and carrots, potatoes & Smash
  • Tin Meat for meals, stews, curries etc.

No fresh, chilled, frozen, damaged, out-of-date or home-made items please!
Please do not leave open or out of date items in our collection boxes.

We try and include items in our packs that will allow people that may find themselves homeless or in temporary accommodation the opportunity to have as varied a diet as possible.

Thank you as always, nothing ever gets wasted. If you can offer some alternative diet items that would also be great. We have suddenly had a demand for gluten free and dairy free produce, and we are currently supporting a number of families with these requirements.

Items can be dropped on at one of numerous drop off locations…

If you ever are unsure what you would like to donate or feel unsure that what you are donating is useful, we are always grateful for monetary donations too which is another way that you could help. You can be sure that the money will go towards projects that will offer further food support to the community.

Thank you, as always, for your generosity and support. Together, we can help make this time a little brighter for local families.
